Noctua has added three new 92nm CPU coolers to their extensive lineup today, all based on their latest 92mm fan, the NF-A9 PWM. Unlike the behemoths we often see from Noctua, these coolers are all small or medium-sized coolers meant to be used in mATX or even uATX and ITX builds. We’ll be focusing on the NH-U9S and NH-9DL since they are the retail models for desktop CPUs. The third cooler, NH-D9DX i4 3U is a version of the NH-9DL, with LGA2011 and LGA1366 mounting brackets..
The NH-U9S is the latest in Noctua’s NH-U9 series of 9cm coolers. Along with the latest 90mm PWM fan, it has 5 heatpipes – presumably the latest revision that was introduced with the NH-U14S we liked so much. With its 95x95mm footprint, the NH-U9S clears the RAM and PCI-E slots on all Intel and “most” AMD motherboards, including uATX and ITX. Full specs.
For even lower profile builds, there’s the Noctua NH-D9L. As you can see, the heatsink is quite a bit shorter than the NH-U9S, so it has a height of 110mm vs 125mm. This isn’t a super low profile cooler like the NH-L9i mind you, but it will fit in 3U HTPC and rackmount enclosures. Full specs.
All three coolers will retail for about $60 MSRP. We should have a full review up in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned!
