be quiet!, the German company best known for their quiet power supplies and CPU coolers will unveil an entirely new product category for them – a mid-size ATX tower PC case. It hasn’t been officially announced yet, so we’re not sure what it’s called. Also, there aren’t any official photos yet, just some taken at their Computex suite before the show. It will be released in September this year, for $129 MSRP.
It’s a great looking case, and will be available in black with orange trim as shown, as well as silver trim or all black.
It comes preinstalled with three be quiet! Pure Wings 2 fans; two 140mm on the front, and a 120mm on the back. These fans are known more for their silence rather than their pure performance, as you might expect coming from this company.
The 3.5″ drive bay can be removed to accommodate extra long video cards. It would have been nice if they had included an extra 2.5″ mounting bay, which would have allowed for long video cards, but wouldn’t lose drive mounting options. This is what Cougar does in the Cougar Challenger and MX500 cases.
The rear motherboard tray has a nice large cutout behind the CPU, allowing for easy cooler installation. They also placed a pair of 2.5″ drive mounting points here, in case you can’t use the (assumed) 2.5″ drive bay internally. However, I don’t see any cable management mounting points. In their demo unit, they simply zip tied their cables without attaching them to the tray.
The PCI slots are well ventilated, and there are some grommeted cutouts for liquid cooling setups. As mentioned previously, that 120mm Silent Wings 2 fan is included in the package. The stands you see are removable.
As far as specs go, this is what we know:

Overall, this looks to be “what you would expect” for a 0.7mm steel case that sells for around $130. The design is quite “old fashioned” with three 5.25″ external drive trays. At the very most, only one is really needed.
We should have a review before it launches in September, so stay tuned for that!
