AMD vs. Intel in a DUAL CORE WAR~!

This is our first full-blown CPU review in - quite some time. I decided to pit AMD vs. Intel in a dual core battle, comparing their fastest sub $200 processors against each other. For kicks, I also threw in a Core 2 Quad Q6600, just to see if Dual Core is dead yet.

Intel buys Havok

I’m not really into just posting news blurbs here at HCW Tech Blog, but this is probably going to be a slow weekend anyway, as I am still settling in from vacation (and suffering some jetlag). Be sure to come back on that day for a full review! (if the rumored date is true; we cannot confirm that here).

Just what is going on with processors these days? HCW regulars have noted a severe decline of new hardcore enthusiasts. The exciting days of overclocking, case mods, and drooling over new architectures seem to have passed. But what is to blame for this new age of premods and complacency with stock speed? [...]

Tech Report is taking a new twist on CPU reviews - they have posted an article which makes it easier to shop for a new CPU by plotting each processor’s performance and price on a graph. Yup, one more graph for the folks at Tech Report ;)
The results are somewhat predictable - Intel’s processors [...]
