First announced in April, the XBLA/PSN exclusive Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (now there’s a mouthful) is one game I am highly looking forward to. The artwork is being completely redone by Canadian art studio Udon Entertainment, the creators of the Street Fighter North American comic book series.
Lately they have been releasing screencaps of the game on their SSFIITHDR blog. They say that this is exactly what the characters will look like in the game, with only the background removed. Many people are skeptical, because, well, they just look so great. Here is a shot of Akuma/Gouki standing next to a former iteration:

I think you can understand the skepticism… However if the rest of the game truly does look this good and (and this is key) they are able to retain what makes Street Fighter so great - the control - this has the potential to bring fighting games back into prominence. For ’screenshots’ of Ken, Guile, a nice rendition of Chun Li (and more info on the game) be sure to visit the official blog of the game. I think I’ll be grabbing this on PS3 when it does come out - I can’t imagine trying to play Street Fighter 2 on the crappy XBOX 360 crosspad.
