Today’s rumor once again involves the PS3. Most of the previous PS3 rumors we posted ended up being true, which makes this one particularly interesting. This one comes from Ars, which suggests that this holiday season (once the $499 60GB version is sold out), the 80GB will receive a $100 price cut, taking over the 60GB version. In addition to that, a 40GB version will be introduced at a price of $399. This makes the PS3 more tantalizing than ever, compared to Microsoft’s XBOX 360 Premium at $349. One could argue that you are getting much better value with the PS3, with Blu-Ray capability right out of the box, and other advantages. By then, there should even be some decent games for it too!

The same rumour states that Spiderman 3 Blu-Ray may be bundled with one or both of these systems, as if anyone wants to bother watching it. Also, the PS2 will reportedly be priced at $99.
