SiSoft Sandra CPU Test

As always, I am going to start off with the test results from SiSoft's Sandra 2002 suite.

The first two benchmarks should all be pretty close to one another, so let's get them out of the way first.

These numbers vary a little more than I would expect... The retail Intel 845 board lags behind both Shuttle boards in every single benchmark, sometimes by 100-200 points! This is nothing to get too concerned about however, let's see what happens with the rest of the benchmarks:

This is the single most relevant artificial benchmark you will ever use to compare chipsets among each other.  It is great to see that the Shuttle AV45GT/R pull ahead here! Since we used basic RAM settings these aren't going to very TOO much, but with tweaks you will see this number increase quite a bit (tweaking is impossible on the Intel board of course, but other boards based on 845 should most certainly offer them).

I like to use Prime95 as a benchmark, simply because it stresses the CPU to the utmost.  Most would expect each motherboard to perform within milliseconds of each other; let's see if that's the case:

Once again the numbers are pretty close, with the AV45GT/R pulling ahead by a bit.  Remember that lower is better when you are looking at this graph.

With the theoretical processing benchmarks out of the way, let's see if there is a wider margin with some graphical benchmarks!
