Does the 6254 stand for the db level?

The only real downside to this cooler is that the fan, though powerful, produces a screeching wail that could raise the dead. I'm not kidding, this thing is LOUD. If noise is a concern you may opt to replace it with a fan with a lower rpm rating. The tradeoff of course is Noise vs Performance.  We'll deal with that subject in a minute...

Installation of the Vantec FCE-62540D is one of ease. Even in the cramped confines of the Abit KT7, where the capacitors are placed in close proximity to the socket, the Vantec is a breeze to install. The fin design is raised above and away from any pesky capacitors in the way.

The design of the clip/retention mechanism is indeed one of the best I've ever come across. It's dimensions are wide and fits the width of the heatsink well. The best thing about it is that there is no need for special tools and pliers, the Vantec can easily be secured with either your fingers or a screw driver. If anything, the clip design should be replicated by other heatsink manufacturers because it it so user friendly. It truly is one of the best.

Well let's see how this baby benches shall we?
