Coolermaster iGreen 430

The iGreen is the latest lineup of Power Supplies to come out of the Coolermaster labs. The iGreen is so named because of its high efficiency low power usage claims, which make it "green" friendly. At 430W it is the smallest of all the units in the roundup, however with claims of 85% efficiency we'll see if it can still run with the big boys.

The iGreen has a very nice mirror finish and uses a single 120mm fan for exhaust purposes through a large rear grill. The iGreen is equipped with two 12V rails which run at a very respectable 19A each, particularly for a 430W unit.

The 430W iGreen is the entry level unit of the series which also comes in 500W and 600W flavours. As such it doesn not come with all the features that some of the higher prices units are equiped with. Though ATX 2.2 compliant, the iGreen does not feature an 8-pin ESP12V connector which means it can't be used out of the box with newer motherboards. The unit does however feature and Active PFC and has Universal Power input.

Every single connector on the iGreen power supply is sheathed in black and has black connections. In terms of airflow and aesthetics this really is the perfect mix in my opinion and will be appreciated by anyone running a chasis with a side window.

The iGreen 430 from Coolermaster includes the following connectors:

  • 20+4 pin ATX connector
  • 4-pin CPU power connector
  • 1 x PCI-E 6-pin connector
  • 5 x standard 4-pin molex connectors
  • 4 x 5-pin SATA connectors
  • 1 x flloppy connector

The iGreen is equipped with Over-Voltage, Under-Voltage, Over-Temperature, Over-Current, Over-Loading and Short Circut Protections. Also, as a bonus, the small light seen on the back of the unit will light up to inform you if any of these protective circuits have kicked in.
