Ethernet Performance

NTTCP was used to test peak ethernet throughput and CPU utilization. The NVIDIA ethernet offloading engine was enabled for both boards. The host system was an Intel D975XBX with integrated Intel gigabit ethernet:

Interestingly, although both ports use the same NFORCE 590 host, port 1 uses less CPU resources than port to on the Foxconn C51. Thankfully, throughput is excellent.

Data Transfer Bus Performance

USB 2.0 and FireWire perform as expected. Just be sure to install this patch for Windows XP to get proper FireWire performance. CPU utilization was in the 2-4% range (with a +/- 2% margin of error) for USB, and as expected, 0-1% for the FireWire tests.

SATA performance is as expected. CPU utilization for both boards was normal - about 2-4% (with the same 2% margin of error in these tests).
