My feelings for the Freezone cooler from CoolIT Systems are mixed at this point.

There are so many great things that can be said about this cooing system. The idea behind the Freezone is revolutionary and the engineering of unit is solid. The implementation is almost flawless, and the results are some of the best that we've seen.  Still, I can't help but feel just a tad disappointed...

After seeing the unit throttle back at idle load, I thought for sure we would see similar temperatures at full load. Instead we saw only marginal gains over a standard re-circulated water kit. The good news however is that with only a few minor changes, the Freezone could be the best consumer grade water cooling system on the market, period.

Let's remember that this is the first revision of a first consumer product for the crew over at CoolIT Systems. With this a solid first effort, I expect that they'll back with an improved version in no time.

We also should note that not everyone is running an ultra hot Prescott chip. If you have an cooler running AMD64 chip you can expect the temperature difference between idle and load to be much smaller making the issues we uncovered much less relevant.

The Freezone Cooler from CoolIT Systems was oh so close to being the new must have cooling product. Even though they might not have hit a home run on this first at bat, we still salute the crew at CoolIT Systems for releasing what is truly a revolutionary cooling device and award them our Innovation Award (unfortunately we still don't have a logo for that - we will update this review as soon as we do)
