The Headers

Every single article involving cases has resulted in some moaning about the USB and Firewire pin headers being well... seperate pin headers. Someone at SilverstoneĀ must have been listening because we get blocks for this case! Though most Firewire implementations on motherboards are standardized, Silverstone also included seperate pins for maximum compatability.

The Multimedia VFD is driven as a USB device so Silverstone gave users the option of plugging it into the motherboard headers or through the back with this nifty little adapter. The plug for the play buttons is not pictured, but that is attached to the computer via a 4-pinĀ motherboard header much like the one pictured below.

The last pin header I wanted to show was the one for the 92mm intake fan because well, I found it quite odd. Instead of the typical 3 pin fan header, we find ourselves with a 4 pin header. Given that a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter was included with the case, would it not have made more sense to put a 3-pin header on this fan?

Speaking of the fan, it's situated to the right front of the case which allows for very unobstructed airflow.

Let's put some drives in the case!
