The Package

Just before we dive in to building up a computer, I just wanted to highlight some of the things that came with this case as you don't normally see them with other cases. Below are some of the accessories that are included. Of note is the metal ring which helps guide your cables and make them cleaner along with the three pin to four pin fan header. The PSU adapter you see is what powers the Multimedia VFD module even when the computer is powered down. The allen key.. well.. you'll see what it's for in a bit!

Lucky LC14M owners also get included with the package, a full featured remote control. Now, when I say full featured, I mean, it can control your computer without a mouse or a keyboard (although that gets a little cumbersome). Unfortunately, it can't learn to control other devices so Harmony remote owners can rest assured knowing that their investments are still useful.

Building up the Computer

The Silverstone instructions were very clear and provided a very logical means by which to build up the computer. The rest of the article will follow them quite closely.

The case is quite spacious and that means you can fit any power supply you want. Pictured above is a Fortron 120mm PSU (very quiet btw!). We can also see the dual 60mm fans that protrude a fair bit. We'll see how that affects the setup later.

With that in place, I put in a full sized ATX motherboard to see how well it'd play with the case. As you can see from this picture, there is plenty of space!

As you can see from this picture, we've used a Zalman CNPS7000B-AlCu heatsink which is mighty close to the 60mm fans.

Those of you with thinking of using a bigger heatsink with this case might want to check clearances first. Let's take a look at the all important headers now.
