HDTach Read Speeds

No surprises here with the Raptor leading the way. Though the outer platter speed of the Maxtor was higher than the Seagate, the Seagate was faster for longer which explains both average read and write speeds.

HDTach Write Speeds

I must admit, I wasn't expecting the Maxtor to be lagging this far behind the pack in terms of write speed. We can see the trend that will be with the Raptor setting the pace with the Hitachi and Seagate duking it out.

HDTach Seek time

With a 10k spindle speed, nothing can touch the Raptor, but the Seagate was clearly lagging behind the others in terms of seek time. Keep in mind that it was also the biggest which can play a factor.

CPU Usage

Given a +/- 2% error margin, the CPU usage is identical for all drives
