SiSoft Sandra Our first few tests are purely theoretical numbers, based on SiSoft Sandra. Don't put too much weight in these; wait for the real world test results later on. But these tests should give an indication of pure computing potential: And to compare the potential bandwidth of each platform, we use Sisoft's Memory Bandwidth Test: The Athlon64's integrated memory controller easily puts them on top. You can also see the performance benefit from the Extreme Edition's frontside bus. With the cache at the L3 level, the Northwood based 3.46 beats the new Prescott based Extreme 3.73 in this case.
