As I put my final thoughts down, I must admit that this case left me with mixed feelings. It's frustrating to see a company like Silverstone execute some things so incredibly well (such as the quality of the machining on the door and the integrated LCD controllers), but miss the mark on other things (such as the SATA drive problem and the drive rail design).

Save for some minor annoyances, the (nearly) tool-free design worked well and with a couple more improvements, it could really become THE standard for cases. The build quality for the most part was well above that found in other cases and expansion capabilities are impressive.

Unfortunately, the sata connector problem was a big one and so it marred what would otherwise be a very high score on this case. (although SilverStone is willing to provide customers with new drive rails, we're not sure when that will happen).

  • Absolutely gorgeous exterior
  • Well thought out interior with completely tool-less design
  • Built in system controller works well and looks great
  • Attention to details like the machining of the power button

  • Not enough drive rails
  • Metal rails on 5.25" hard to work with
  • 3.5" rails not compatible with most SATA cables (SilverStone is working on a fix)
  • No thumbscrews on one side of the case

Final Score: 79%
