Gigabyte Software

Gigabyte was one of the pioneers of Windows utilities for motherboard settings. Their EasyTune software is now in its fifth version!

The main EasyTune screen is where you will find ALL of the fan settings. You can change all the settings from various dialogs in this main screen.

This is the main overclocking screen. From here you can set your FSB speeds AND voltage settings, without the need to reboot at all. And of course there is an "Easy Mode" with presets and an auto overclocker.

Gigabyte's BIOS util is not exactly the prettiest, but it is just as functional as any other. Update the BIOS from Gigabyte's servers, or download a file manually and flash it from there. You can also use the WinFlash utility to flash and backup BIOS files (DFI also includes this utility).

Software Conclusions

Once again it's quite obvious who wins the Software category. Thanks to the uGuru chip, Abit is able to offer more tweaks and settings than anyone else.

Gigabyte gets a distant second, with their Windows overclocking utility that has full voltage and PCI lock settings.

Gigabyte and Foxconn also include a free copy of Norton SystemWorks. This is a full suite that has a virus scanner, firewall, and more. Definitely a nice plus!

NOW we can finally get to how these boards perform!
