Rendering Performance

Okay, enough fun and games, let's get to work! Well, if you make a living producing 3D content, you'll want to know how these CPU's do in rendering applications.

For rendering performance, we are using CineBench, a CPU based rendering platform based on Maxon Cinema's 4D modeling, rendering, and annimation program. This program supports hyperthreading, and heavily favors it, so watch the P4 kick some ass here:

This time the Prescott is behind by a little bit, held back still by the longer pipeline.

In one test, we saw the disadvantage of a longer pipeline, and in this one we are seeing the advantage of the 1 MB L2 cache.

Kribibench is highly optimized for multi-threading, so the Hyper-Threading architecture of the P4's pull them far ahead of the Athlon64. One of the disadvantages of a 'performance rating'.
