If your MMO experience goes beyond WoW and even EverQuest, you have probably played Ultima Online at one time or another. For me, I got into UO just a year after it started (I got The Second Age for Christmas in 1998), after dabbling a bit in MUD games before that.
UO is getting a huge refresh in the form of the Kingdom Reborn expansion pack. It is a complete rewrite of the graphical engine, and a totally new client (unlike the graphics ‘update’ in the Third Dawn expansion that simply changed the characters to ugly 3D models that ruined the look of the game). You can sign up for the beta here if you’re interested to check it out.
