Nearly 2 years after we first heard about it, the Optimus Maximus keyboard is finally available for pre-purchase. Pre-ordering started yesterday, and they have already sold out their first block of 200, which will ship in early December. The next 200 pre-orders will be shipped in late December, and if there are 800 people on this earth who have enough money to blow, the remainder will ship in January 2008.

There is no denying that the keyboard truly is a thing of beauty, and the programmable layouts will be very useful. But to spend over $1500 for a keyboard? That’s just nuts. Oddly enough, it doesn’t even have its own internal memory for that price; the keyboard profiles must be saved on an SD card.
If you are completely insane, or have more money than you know what to do with, you can pre-order the Optimus Maximus here.
