If Sony isn’t dropping Playstation 3 prices by $100 like the rumors currently say, they really should. According to BBC, the Nintendo Wii is outselling the PS3 by a ’six to one’ margin. Actually, it’s more like a 6.5 to 1 margin, 270,974 Wiis compared to 41,628 PS3s in June. In comparison, the Xbox 360 sold 17,616 in the same time.

The Darkness

It’s no secret that the Wii has been more successful than the PS3 since their launch in November of 2006. While it’s still near impossible to get a Wii anywhere near a retail store, PS3 are starting to really gather dust on the shelves. I’m not kidding…I work in a retail store here in Vancouver and we have three that have been there for months.

Overall, apparently, the Nintendo has sold almost three times as many consoles as Sony since launch.
