If you were stupid enough to buy a Core Edition XBOX 360, your poor decision is going to look even worse in the next year or so. At Gamesfest, Microsoft has announced that, after immense pressure from MMO developers, they would allow games to use a large ‘Master Storage File’ which would be too big for memory cards and require the XBOX 360 hard drive.

Although the news we found only refers to MMO games, it wouldn’t make much sense to continue preventing developers from doing the same thing, as it gives the PS3 quite an advantage. I’m sure Rockstar is still bugging MS about this very thing.

Games needing a hard drive will have to display the requirement prominently on their boxes.
