I went to Denmark for a few days a couple years ago. Fantastic place, pleasant people…Copenhagen is one of the coolest places on the planet, as far as I’m concerned. I don’t know much else about the country other than since late 2000, they have made badass games. Danish developer IO Interactive is responsible for one of the best franchises in the history of games: the Hitman series. It’s not only that the entire series is insanely fun to play but everything from the spot-on voice acting to the amazing soundtrack by Jesper Kyd and the Budapest Symphony Orchestra is…artistic and stylish in a way few games are.

Since releasing Hitman: Blood Money in May of last year, IO Interactive has been hard at work on their next game, Kane & Lynch, which is, based on the trailers I’ve seen so far, possibly the most badass game I’ve ever seen. It’s so badass I want to freakin’ throw up. The action looks brutal and that music, which will again feature Jesper Kyd’s work, meshes so well with the cinematics.

The game follows Kane, a father turned mercenary, and Lynch…a total nut-job, who have to recover a load of money they owe to a shadow society called The Seven since Kane pissed them off. The player takes on the role of Kane (Lynch is AI or Player Two in Co-Op) and it appears that most of the game will be squad based combat. It uses a modified version of the Glacier Engine found in the Hitman series so the ragdoll and projectile physics should be up to par.

Kane & Lynch will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC in Q4 2007. Not much else is known about the game at the moment other than the fact it looks bad…ASS.
