J&W crams an 890GX and USB 3.0 onto a tiny Mini-ITX Motherboard

Look what just got dropped into our inbox today… It certainly got my attention!

The MINIX 890GX-USB3 is a new motherboard from J&W Technology in Hong Kong. With an 890GX chipset and an additional USB controller, it offers excellent video playback in a tiny form factor, thanks to 890GX’s hardware video decoding, as well as SATA 6 Gbps and USB3. Pop a 45 watt Athlon II x4 in there, and you’ll have yourself quite a capable multimedia system, in a miniscule energy-efficient package. You could even save a bit of money going with a dual core, since the BIOS supports core unlocking. ;)
