I guess Christmas has put Intel in the giving mood, because they are offering not one, but three different ways to win some prizes. Here are some details:
The What’s Inside You contest has entrants share their stories on how they use their PC or Mac to do impressive things. I’m not sure I do anything that impressive with my computers, but I’m sure some of our readers will be able to impress the folks at Intel with their stories! Send in your entries, and you can win a Centrino 2 laptop and cash prizes. This contest is open to US residents only.
In the second contest, you have to give your estimate on the number of transistors Intel has shipped since the beginning of the year, in their 45nm chips. The winner gets a $500 Amazon.com gift code (which will come in handy with those absurd shipping fees for Canadians). Keep in mind that each chip has about 100 million transistors! This contest is open to US and Canada.
The third contest, a joint promotion with Ubisoft, is giving away 50 copies of Far Cry 2 for PC, and a Core i7 965 chip every day for the entire month of December! You have to sign up for an Ubisoft account for this one, and answer some questions about Core i7 (which you’ll find in our review of the Core i7) and Far Cry 2 (which you can Google, but they are basically comedy questions). This contest is open to residents of United-States, United-Kingdom, France, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Australia, New-Zealand and Canada.
Good Luck!
