Halo 3 is apparently pretty good

Here’s me being brutally honest: The Halo 3 hype is driving me insane.
You see, I never owned an XBOX 1. I never got into Halo at all. Personally, I can’t stand playing First Person Shooters with a gamepad. I don’t know if I will ever get good at it. One of the reasons I loved Gears of War so much, is because it is so forgiving to people who grew up on PC FPS games, and don’t quite get the hang of the same type of game with a gamepad.
I bought Crackdown (and loved it) and tried out the Halo 3 beta. After 2 days, I gave up and never played it again. Instead, I have been playing Half Life on my PC, in preparation for Episode 2 and TF2.
However, even if you can ignore the hype, you can’t ignore the reviews. Here’s a summary of the first Halo 3 reviews:
- IGN 9.5/10
- TeamXBOX (IGN): 9.7/10
- GameSpy: 5/5
- GameTrailers: 9.8/10
- 1Up (EGM): 10/10
- GamePro: 5/5
- Computer & Video Games: 9.7/10
- GameDaily (AOL): 9/10
- GameSpot: 9.5/10
So yeah. I am going to read all of those, and maybe by then I will have bought into the hype. If a large portion of the scores go into the multiplayer though, I think I might just give this one a pass, and play Bioshock instead.

I’ve never owned a console and also find it hard to imagine playing FPS on gamepad. And I’ve always hated games that are great for the masses so I never even considered buying Halo 3. It’s kinda weird, but that’s the way it is.
I bought halo 3 on uk midnight launch. Its really awesome! Great graphics and great online play!
