Special editions of games are getting more and more elaborate these days. While some simply have a different box, others include some nice goodies such as concept art books, figurines, soundtrack CDs and other collectibles for die hard fans. They might cost ten or twenty bucks more but hey, if you’re an enthusiast, it’s a small price to pay, really. I know for sure I’m going to get myself a special edition of Bioshock, which comes with several extra DVDs and a Big Daddy figurine.

Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition

Some pictures showed up yesterday on Destructoid featuring the Special Edition of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV and, well, it does look quite special. Included are an art book, a soundtrack CD, a Rockstar duffle bag, a metal safety deposit box with the GTA IV logo (with matching keys chained to a Rockstar keychain) and, of course, the game which will be available on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. It also comes with a $89.99 price tag which might be a bit too much for folks who already complain about the $59.99 they spend on regular games but if you simply can’t get enough of Grand Theft Auto, just steal a couple more cars and the extra thirty bucks won’t be a problem.
