see theres a leson in this. get one of the xp cd's that installs SP1 when you install windows. then no headaches.

Mines was 60% to 70% cpu usage for system Idle Process. What can I do about it. I didnt notice it before.

I've tried it it doesn't come up. I also did a search for mscofig.exe, com, bat etc..

hello everyone i am in need of some help, sadly my computer will not start up it makes beeping noises which sounds like the following, duhhh (1 sec gap) doooh (1 sec gap) duhhh (1 sec gap) doooh over and over and over again, nothing goes on the screen ive tryed pulling the jumper thing off the metal pins nere the batery and moving around hoping the system will reset and i would only have to reenter the date time ect... i will admit i played around with the configuation, you know the menu you get when you boot up and press delete, well i made the sytem run faster im sooo stupid! is there any hope? ive took the entire comp apart and put it back together but still no go. i wish i could explain the noise beter XD its just one normal beep followed after a gap by a slightly lower tone beep and it does this continuesly. thanks for however is reading this for taking the time to try to help

Sounds to me like you have something plugged up wrong, or backwards does your floppy A: light stay on all the time? if so flip your cable. check you mem see if you have it the slots right. are you grounding anything out against the board .. remove it and make sur ethere isn't metal shavings from something you've do or loose screws other than that you board sounds fried.

This is a classic problem... if you turn off ICMP in your Bios before installing XP you wont have the problem... I think SP2 fixes it.
