Default Video Driver issue on D865PERL MOBO

Hiya,

I just built a new PC and everything seems to be working out fine...kind of. I bought a Mad dog conquerer FX5200 Plus APG 8x/4x. I have updated the BIOS to v19. The only issue I have is...when I install the video drivers my computer continually reboots. As long as I don't load the drivers I am ok (of course it doesn't run as well). I have also tried an ATI Radeon 9200 AGP and PCI...and it does the same thing. Each video card works until I install the drivers. And at one point I got the BSoD. I am running a 2.8 Celeron D on an Intel D865PERL with 1gig of RAM on Win XP Home SP2. I have updated the BIOS on the motherboard and still the same thing.

Any ideas on what is causing this or any fix suggestions? Thanks.

At what point does it reboot? Did you disable the onboard in BIOS? What kind of power supply do you have?

have you installed the motherboard drivers? uninstall the video drivers using ati's cat uninstaller and detonator destroyer. install the mobo drivers and then the 5200 drivers.

It usually never makes it to the desktop before it reboots. Also, there is no on board video. And I am running a 350w power supply. I installed the mobo drivers, but that was after I installed the video drivers. I am just going to start over making sure the mobo drivers / update are installed first. I will let you know if this works.
