That's pretty interesting NVM. Seems like a less of a Raid system, more of a chip that turns the SDD into massive read Cache for the norm HDD.

So now that I have been running for 6 months. Speed is still awesome. However, I just had to install MS office, and we all know how that changes your boot time so the pure lightning speed is noticably slower. I of course have 80 other smaller apps installed over this time also.

Still damn fast at everything, faster than any HDD I've ever owned. And it would seem to me my bottle neck on boot is not my disk at all, but my processer as it's pretty much pegged on both cores for about 20-30 seconds on boot.

NVM, how's things running for you?

You know you'd think after 49 years he'd have perfected that damn swing by now. And yes I said 49, I'm sure he was swinging in the womb.

It's a software update if you have an Intel chipset. It only supports trim when you're using the drive by itself with the controller in RAID mode. I'm using that very same driver right now with that exact configuration.

oh crap, had my hopes up there, i was almost ready to dump my AMD Quad core.

Quote:
It will support TRIM with SSDs in an AHCI configuration, or with the RAID controller enabled and the SSD is used as a pass through device. An example of this use case is for users that want to use the SSD as a boot drive but still be able to RAID multiple HDDs together to allow for large protect data storage – a great use for the home theater PC. TRIM support for SSDs in a RAID configuration is under investigation and is not included in Intel® RST 9.6.
so this will allow you to TRIM a single SSD(as a "C" drive) , with a RAID array(for storage) behind it? is that it?

all i can say guys, is, made you look!
