we're buying them (the intels) as fast as they can make them. Just try to find stock of them, pretty hard for the last few months.

So I've been beating on the SSD for a few days. Pretty impressive so far. Also running win7Ult which I am far happier with thus far also.
boot up times and login (using camera face recognition) is just blazing. Before the camera app would take 10-20 seconds at least just to "boot up". Now it momentarily blinks on the screen and recognizes my face before I even get to see myself. I'm talking instant. When it logs in, sidebar, all that crap is finished immediately, maybe takes a .25 second I would guess, if that. I haven't timed it, but I'm guessing about 5-7 seconds between post and arriving at my desktop. From the time you see the login screen to my desktop loaded is about .5 seconds using face recognition, if that. If I shutdown, I'd say about 3-5 seconds for power to shut off completely. Best 300 bucks I've spent in a long time.

I'll wait three seconds instead of .5 for my desktop to appear, until I can get an ssd that is at least 300gb for under 500.

last drive wasn't loud, so not really a noise difference for me, but definatley less heat from that part of the laptop now. Presumably way less energy usage too.
