Exclamation Virus definitions

So, what do you all do about keeping your virus definitions up to date???

I just got a nasty awakening on my laptop, I don't use it much, so I didn't bother that my subscription was out of date, till I just did a beta with updated definitions, and I found not only had over 50 'infections' gotten in, but they had also made the system look like it was protected, while they were gnawing their way through it's contents!

yep, some kids figured out how to get around the current anti virus algorithms and publicized them on the net. not only do the new viruses have them, but old viruses have resurfaced using them. great huh. ya just have to stay with the tried and true methods for protecting your comp. dont rely on anti virus programs alone.

it is tuff not to be a moron tho.

in small biz, you have to answer emails with attachments or go out of biz. if you cant setup your own mail server then find a mail service that scans all emails for viruses for ya.

Well, I got Nort's 2002, and I update every week... And I do a full virus scan every month... Still... I always seem to catch the newest viruses... The one Nort's doesn't know about...

And surprisingly they don't come from the files in Kazaa.

There are always going to be people who get their kicks out of beating the system!
Email does not seem to be the cause of mine, rather a web page.
My email gets scanned both going out and coming in, quite often it pops up with an alert and the offending article is stopped in it's tracks.
