yes I was planning on it, but my TO bearing went out, so I had to use the money for that instead so I could get my car running. But I get paid this friday so I am getting insurance with that paycheck.

guess thats american planning for you. They will check, when it comes to money being owed to them they check EVERYTHING.

Even if you cange the numbers on the forms, the ones in the computers you cannot change, and they go with those.

So take the advice on every person on this board, get a 300 loan, pay the fine, and get some insurance for next time.

My good friend is a judge. He has a rep for being a major hard-ass, and most of my low-life employees can't fathom how I could be friends with him. Anyway, I think his style is pretty similar to most judges. When a punk who breaks the law tries to f*ck with him, he slams down the hammer. The punk pays dearly. It seems your getting the idea, here, so that's a good thing.

Here's some advice to make this easier. Get insurance asap, like you said, this paycheck. Go to court on your court date and show them that you bought insurance, with the actual correct dates you did so and that you can't afford to pay the fines all at once. As someone else stated, they want your $$, not your ass in jail. They will make arrangements with you to do so. Keep current on your payments that you agree to. This can be spread out over a period of time so it doesn't hurt so much. NOt so bad, see?

And LL, many people get fines for driving w/o insurance and still drive w/o insurance. The reduced fine is an incentive to get people to comply. I think it's a good idea. Here on the Big Island, it is estimated that 1/3 of drivers on the road do not have car insurance. This is a huge problem here. Getting people to comply and become an insured citizen is important and the legal system does what they can to try to make that happen. Just ask me friend, Da Judge.
