I was looking for this info, and had a tough time finding it, so I'll post it as a sticky thread for future reference.
To find the correct speed for your ram, use this formula: 1000 / ns Some examples: 6.0ns = 166 MHz (333DDR) -GeForce 2 GTS, GF2MX*, GF4MX420* 5.5ns = 183 MHz (366DDR) -Radeon DDR, GeForce 2 Pro 5.0ns = 200 MHz (400DDR) -Radeon 8500DV AIW, GF3Ti200, GF4MX440 4.3ns = 233 MHz (466DDR) -Radeon 7500, GF2 Ultra, GF3 4.0ns = 250 MHz (500DDR) -Radeon 8500LE, GF3Ti500, GF4Ti4200 3.6ns = 275 MHz (550DDR) -Radeon 8500, GF4MX460, GF4TI4400 3.0ns = 333 MHz (666DDR) -GF4Ti4600** * = Uses SDR Ram ** = Actually runs at 650 MHz Notice how low spec the 8500 AIW is compared to the regular 8500... I'll definitely make note of this in the review (it REALLY affects performance, as you can imagine).

my GeForce 3 Ti200 Gainward has 4ns ram and I can easily get it to 250/550. "Safe mode" settings for it are 175/400 and "Enhanced mode" is 200/450. A bit different from what you have, but close. Most are suprised I have no problem 250/ 550 - guess good quality ram for your vid card it important.

These are all reference specs... Some manufacturers choose to use faster than spec ram... Essentially this is what the chart is for; it should allow you to know exactly how fast your ram should be running

The formula I have always used is
1000/n=m where n is equivalent to nanoseconds and m is equivalent to megahertz Thusly, 1000/3=333.33333... or, RAM rated at 3ns goes at 333.333...MHz you can also switch it around to find the ns if you know MHz IE: Your RAM runs at 300MHz 1000/300=3.3333... or, it runs at 3.3ns

Yeah, pretty much. Yours is off by a factor of ten, but it gets the job done.

What? How can they be off when they both get the EXACT same result?

1/5 = .2 ...that times 100 equals 20. Looks like it's an order of magnitude low to me.
