Sometimes it's just the processor.
![]() In some cases, no matter what you do, your rig will not work properly. Here at HCW, we've had several occurances where the problem was solved simply by returning the processor to the vendor and getting a new one. This usually happens with AMD processors. Not to say that AMD puts out inferior quality chips but that without the protection of a heatspreader like the one seen on the Intel Pentium 4, they are considerably less protected against the pressure of a heatsink fan or heat for that matter.
