question about TMDs
Do you have to drill a new hole for the TMD fans, or do they fit in an 80mm design? because they are listed as 70mm fans.
|
70mm fans will fit on 70mm heatsinks. You can buy an adapter, but I don't recommend it. Just buy the aeroflow.
|
no i have the aeroflow. at coolerguys.com they sell the TMD fans for 10 bucks a piece. I was just wondering if any1 had one and has put them in their case.
|
you wanna use one as a case fan? if so, then yes, you'll have to drill new holes.
if no, then what you talkin bout? |
Yes new holes, I just checked and they are smaller than a standard 80mm, I have a couple TMD's. I use one on my MCX4000 and it works great on a Pin type HSF. I've heard they suck on fin types though.

There's not much point in a TMD as a case fan... Their big advantage is their ability to have air flowing in the center directly below them.. This is good for heatsinks with copper slugs, etc, but nothing special for case fans, especially since they vibrate quite a it more than BB types.

Re: question about TMDs
i ask because the performance of my case fans is horrible. i can barely feel any airflow at all. i have the same case as LL, thermal take Xaser III v2000a. how did you set yours up? i don't think i completely understand how to get full performance of the case.
