I fail to see your logic in game selection. Madden is probably a popular title as far as the sports titles go, but thats not what everyone says around me when i ask them about games. I hear Ratchet and clank, metal gear solid, final fantasy, nhl, Guitar hero, god of war, etc... If you're only hearing one game title, and that happens to be visually superior on a 360, then i dont think you're taking your arguments from a very diverse group.

Also, your link to the online service is a basic preview, and most of their arguments are because sony literally flipped the switch on the 17th. unlike Live which has been out for over 4 years?

I don't appreciate your facts not meshing well with my opinions!!! :-)

Seriously. Choose the flavor you like. For me, the blu-ray, wifi, gaming all in one box is attractive. xbox addon's are unaccaptable for my living space. I hear the PS3 is quiet, I know from my friends xbox that it sounds like a jet engine. Unaccpetable again.

better games? we will only know in 4-5 years.

this fellow has a good point on porting. sony was suppose to have the ps3 launched last march. four months behind the xbox isn't too bad but now two countries are one year behind and the rest of the world will be 1.5 years.

these delays are way too long and going to cost sony over ten million units is lost sales. i would expect many games to be xbox 360 ports for quite some time yet.

i still wouldn't buy an xbox 360 because of it's limited functionality. i would expect to see many useful apps from the oss peeps for the ps3. at least one linux distro is on the ps3 already.

Personally, I'm hoping that the PS3 take a real shot at being a "home media center" and maybe in a year I can download 1080P versions of movies (at least sony movies) not to mention music, etc. Even if it's only a rental scheme, I really want them to move in that direction.

Also, I want the Linux community to dig in deep with the PS3, this will open doors no one has even thought of yet...

I see microsoft being more the one to offer the download high def content and on-demand content services, or the first one. It designed the entire 360 live experience around the ability to deliver online content, and as everything moves to HD, i can see the 360 being the better at the on-demand content delivery.

of course, the ps3 may beat it, but as its focusing much on blueray as its media for delivering HD content such as movies and such i don't see it being the first or the best at the online.

of course i can always be wrong, i'm just guessing here.

This leads to all sorts of difficulties. "I believe in love" has a better than even chance of leading to divorce, while "I believe in God" seems to end in variations on the Spanish Inquisition

Yeah, but for this to work you will need a HD. 360's dont' all have HD's. That may truncate the market. The people that will use this are not wanting to do "upgrades". THey will be the adults wanting a cool "ipod-ish" device that can play movies, music and games to show off to there friends.

And again, I have to add, there is no way I could enjoy music or a movie in the same room as a 360, the thing is so loud it will ruin the enjoyment of everything but the loud scenes/tracks.

Sweet, hopefully a good selection. I know for sure sony is going to limit the selection to shitty sony movies at first. Sony always screws that part up, they did it with the PSP too.

i wonder if sony will rootkit the ps3.

hmm, movies via the net is just about the dumbest thing i've heard. if it catches on, the net will crawl to a standstill.
