pc not booting correctly, motherboard problem?
I have an abit kt7a motherboard with an athlon 900. I turn the power on for the system and it comes on (power is workling) but nothing happens, i dont get to the bios or nothing, the monitor doesnt even turn on. Then i press the reset button and my computer turns on perfectly. I thought it could be a bios problem, but i got the latest one and still the same problem. Also, i read somewhere that it may be that the hdd needs time to load up, so i disabled quick boot and still didnt fix it. With the new bios, i can put a time delay before it reads the hdd, i put it to the maximum, 15 seconds, and that still does nothing. I also tried several different hdds (1 gig, 8 gig, 40 gig) and i still got the same problem. Now recently i got another problem, i put in the cmos that the processor is 900 mhz and when it boots up, it says 700 mhz. I dunno, i may have fried the cpu tryin to fix the boot up problem. I think my board is still under the three years abit warranty, and it should be free to get it fixed since i have the sales receipt. I just want to make sure its a motherboard problem before i go to all the trouble. Please let me know if you have some suggestions on what the problem may be or how to fix it. Thanks for your help.
