PC I built and the windows problems

Hello.
I built my first PC about 2 month ago, but I always get error on windows startup.
I get an error like windows/system32/config/system has corrupted
or many other things. I know how to fix it in recovery console but some other
errors I get, I just have to reinstall my windows.

One of my friend told me that it happens because of my XP CD or HD.
But I don't think its my XP CD that is causing this problem because I copied this XP CD from someone and my 4other friends shares same xp, and they don't get this problem.

The longest time it lasted without getting error was 1week.
I don't know why, but I didn't get those error.
only newthing I did was after I updated windows as usual, I tried disk check with norton everytime my PC start up.

Can any of you tell me what is causing me this problem?
I really don't know much about PC. I have reinstalled my windows about 15times since I built my system

CPU : AMD XP 1800+
Video : Gainward GeForce4 golden samp
HD : Maxtor 30G 7200RPM
