Hi guys, I've bought a new PC that I tried to put together with help of a friend of mine. I couldn't get the thing to boot though...
![]() Intel865perl MB, Intel P4 2.4 Gh, Kingston Memories (2*512), 330W High Quality PSU I'm trying to boot, but the PSU quits after about 1 second. The 12V 2*2 pin connector in the PSU is connected to the MB as well as the main psu-cord. Without the 2*2 pin the PSU continues on, but then of course it won't boot. The CPU fan rolls together with the PSU (starts and stops with it). The Kingston memories are suppose to be compatible with the MB. Nothing else is connected to the MB. I've tried with and without VC, no diff. With one memory no difference. With none it continues, but then it won't boot either (just get 3 loud beeps). I find it hard to believe that the PSU is underpowered. Could it be that the memories are bad? Or could it be the MB? // robert, Stockholm Sweden. |

take the mobo out of the case and see if it boots. check the standoff pattern. try another 3 wire fan for the cpu header.

I found a tip on Intel's site to remove the CMOS a while, and that did it! Thanks for your time.
