Unhappy My FIRST ticket....and for a U-Turn

Well i just got a ticket....im more pissed at myself than anything. It was on this small road that gets backed up worse than any other road here....its hell trying to cross 4 lanes from a stop to get into a turn lane so i usually do a U-turn, just watching out for police. Its saves so much more time, as long as i can do it.

well, i did today, and the cop was wayyyyy back and saw. She pulled over the median and turned her lights on...i was super cool about it, hardly nervous. I mean, honestly maybe i shoulda done more but i knew why she pulled me over, and i mean, i figured what can i do....say i didnt make the U-turn? but she was really nice actually but didnt really seem to give any leeway. I was hoping to get off when I CONVIENIENTLY gave her a expired insurance card, and then i couldnt find my new one anywhere. couldnt believe it.

I have a $50 ticket for the u-turn, and 2 points for it. Then $100 fine for the expired card....which i can get reduced maybe on monday but i have to go show them i have a new one.

WELL....im just not doin good at the moment. This is the LAST thing i needed at the moment. seems like everything that can go wrong just wanted to happen lately...my computer included. I was planning on leaving state tommorrow to drive my truck down to Oregon where i go to school. Now i atleast need to wait till monday to go reduce the expired card fine. hell, i have been driving for 4 years and never got a ticket...and now for a u-turn. You guys think there is much i can do? i'll go get that fine reduced but i feel the u-turn ticket is kinda....I dont know if driving school would take care of those points or what. Just never got a ticket so im not all sure really how to work it to reduce anything....

You're pretty much fuKed. Might get some taken off if you bring in the insurance but the U-Turn was a bad move.

chances are if you go fight it in court, the cop will be too busy to show up to contest it.

are you sure a u-turn is even illegal? I know here, as long as you don't do it in a busy street or an intersection or somewhere where there's a "NO U-TURN" sign, it's perfectly legal.

ugh, yeah i am pretty screwed....but, I dont have time to contest it and if she showed up i'd be even more screwed, lol. And yes, i'll admit it, there was a "no u-turn" sign...but hell, ive made u-turns there forever, as well as everyone else. That area is just insane how backed up it gets, it the most problemous intersection here. not that that makes up for it....BUT, hell,...$50 i can deal with, just 2 damn points are pissing me off.

and i got a way that i think i can get most of that fine for the card knocked off. and yeah the cop told me they will reduce it if i bring my new one in...

shit, im in the middle of building a new comp too...

You should of asked the cop out. She might of been flattered and reduced the ticket.

hmmm i would get a hold of the officer and ask for it to be deferred. once you go to court the judge will defer the sentence for 90 days. If you dont get another ticket for 90 days it is like it never happened. All u have to do is pay the court costs. If you do get another ticket within 90 days you get fucked on the second ticket and get fucked on the first. Ask for a defferal. I get a ticket about ever 94 days or so.... but still have all my points...and a clean driving record

PBbbbt...$150? Try $430 for my first ticket.

I racked up maybe...$1000 in my first year driving. Zero accidents...lots of speeding...and I'm a wanted fugitive (hahahahha!) in the state of Oregon.

Congratulations!

yea man, would you have rather had grand theft auto be your first ticket? just tell the judge that you didn't see any signs proclaiming it a no u-turn area. then you get some lesser tticket and no points. at least thats how we do it in VA.
