Today we're reviewing the Z-5500 5.1 Channel Speakers from Logitech. A direct replacement to the popular Z-680, this set features a number of improvements and enhancements from the old version. Find out how the Z-5500 performs in a variety of scenarios, such as gaming, music, and in movies. We'll also look to see whether they stand up to different configurations other than as PC desktop speakers. Check it out!

I couldn't believe how cheap these were.. I had no idea they were as low as like $230! You certainly can't tell when listening to them.

I got the Z-5300's for under a hundred bucks, plenty or sound for the dollar. The bass alone is unbeleivable for the price.
I couldn't see a reason to spend twice as much on the 5500 if only for computer or gaming use. The 5300's are better than some home theater setups I've seen people buy. |

I have had Z-5500s for about a year now, even thorgh i have already blown the bass [me and anything subwoofer dont get along, ive blown 3 subs] , even still there is enough low end coming out of it , id say 5%, and these speakers rock!
I think one thing a gamer forgets about is how unfair of an advatade you can have with some really good 5.1 speakers

Can anyone comment on how the Logitech Z906 compares to the Z-5500?
For my computer setup, I've been using the Klipsch 2.1 ProMedia that I've had for more than 10 years. After 10 years the Klipsch system still sounds great and I guess the biggest question for me is if it is worth upgrading before the Klipsch sub actually gives out. The only thing I'm worried about is the tweeter-less sats. Obviously, the Z906 is going to crush the Klipsch 6.5" 130W sub, and the sats have a lot more power, but I would imagine the Klipsch sats are still clearer and more crisp, and able to hit the highs the tweeterless Z906 can't. So that being said, can anyone comment on a Klipsch 2.1 to Z-5500 to Z906 comparison? What are your overall thoughts comparing Klipsch to the two Logitech systems, and is it worth tracking down a Z-5500 instead of buying the Z906? |

I'd love to help you on this, but I really have no idea about speaker tech anymore. Hopefully someone else here will have some comments.
