1) My Registry windows it's always occured every single day (1 or 2 times in a day sometimes I got 3 or 4 a day)... it's say windows registry error and I need to restart the computer and windows fix it... that's very annoying and if you forgot to backup the registry that you install it you need to install it again... 2) This is very very annoying... my computer always freeze in about 3 to 5 seconds every 30 minutes.. that's very annoying especially when you play some games like quake3 arena.. can anyone fix my problem here? here is my system... Does it "freeze for a second, but then every thing is alright for another 30 minutes" freeze? Or is it more of a "bettter start holding down the power switch for a while" freeze?
At any rate, I guess both your problems could be caused by bad drivers or card conflicts, although I'm not entirely sure how... [This message has been edited by runaway (edited May 21, 2000).] |

I'd say this is almost an easy one.
Stop overclocking the processor. See if it still does this. You said you allready did this but it still does it. Do it anyway. This will probably be the fix for a couple of reasons. 1. You don't have enough cooling to allow your processor to run at this speed stably. No info was given on the cooling you are using and thus I must conlude you are using a stock heatsink fan combo. Get a bigger badder heatsink fan combo. 2. You dont have enough cooling. You havent explained your case enough to allow us to know how everything is set up. Do you have a supply of fresh air from one fan into the case and a fan to blow stagnant air out? You case may be overheating. A couple other things to do.. Get yourself a temperature monitor such as MotherBoard Monitor. This will tell you the temp of the processor and is a very usefull little utility. I would also recommend trying out a software cooler such as Rain. Also I agree with runaway about this also possibly being a driver problem or even perhaps a cmos setting that is causing the problem. Have you installed the latest 4 in 1 Via driver patch? This could help quite a bit. Raven |
