It would post, I've done that mistake before. All you'd get tho is a message on your monitor along the lines of 'please plug in the power connector to your video card'.

Well that makes me feel better. The jackass factor has been eliminated. So it really was two DOA Lanpartys.

When i started up the Abit a message flashed on the screen that said, Plug in your video card knucklehead. And then everything was fine from there.

Well, i've got two more of those new DFI beauties sitting downstairs in their Fedex boxes. I'll have to benchtest them this weekend to see if they're any good. I got them from Newegg and they only repair Lanpartys. So i'd have to take the return policy up with DFI. I've never dealt with DFI directly but i can only imagine it would be easier to just sell the boards on ebay than to try and get my money back from them.

We'll see.

I should have put the word, repair, in quotation marks.

Yeah, Newegg doesn't really repair anything, they just send you a new board.

I'm going downstairs to benchtest the boards now and see if Newegg "repaired" them.

Has anyone dealt with DFI in trying to get a refund?

Well, guess what's back.

Yep, it's the jackass factor.

I got the Lanparty's out and benchtested them to see if they'd post and they both worked like a charm. And guess what else, when i unplugged the power to the video card they wouldn't. So there it is.

If you fire up the Abit NF7 without power to the video card, in my case an ATI 9800 All-In-Wonder, it flashes up a message on the screen that says your video card power is not plugged in.

But if you start up the DFI Lanparty without power to the video card it won't post, and as it's working it's way through the diagnostic LED sequence it will just hang on LED 4. But it doesn't flash a message on the screen. It may in fact beep, but i didn't have a speaker hooked up so i'm not sure. Although, now that i'm thinking about it, when i previously had the boards installed in the machine and i started it up, it would do what i have just described but then if you hit reset it would start beeping.

Hopefully this will help somebody else out
