fearcrest...you don't drive many 4x4's do you? lol
Four wheel drive has NOTHING to do with roll over accidents...please...
Possibly because 4x4 vehicles with high/low transfer cases are tipically higher off the ground...This might be why the data is skewed, but it has nothing to do with the primary fact that the vehicle is a 4x4.

you may wanna look up some info on 4x4's

they do flip more easy,

think about it when taking a turn, you have both wheels on one side spinning, no friction from the front or back tires stopping it from turning, so when you take a sharp turn having the two side wheels that force it to flip. if you dont believe me look it up, makes enough sense to me

I have driven 4x4s for years...
First, a 4x4 is heavier...transfer cases weigh upwards of 500lbs. This weight is slung low...keeping the vehicle upright.
Next, most true 4x4s cannot reach flip speeds with 4x4 engaged.
The fake 4x4, or the AWD, which can reach high speeds, does not have this issue because of wheel turn sensors. and typically there isn't that much torque going to the 2nd set of tires.
Thirdly, many audi's, subarus, VWs and other vehicles have used AWD for years. You don't hear about them flipping on the race track whether it be blacktop or rally.

I come back to my original assurtion - making the data look as is 4x4 flip easily is not too hard. It is the fact that most 4x4 have high ground clearance and are tall. THIS is what adds to the 'danger' of flipping. But again, I have driven 4x4s for years and I am not a timid driver - I have never driven on just two wheels. Well, not on road at least.

ok here is how it really goes frearcrest.....any vehicle can roll over....if you take a sharp turn to fast the g force can send any vehicle over....yes trucks and SUV have a higher center of gravity making them overal more top heavy. Every year more and more SUVS are getting a better rollover rating than many cars with new saftey features as well as new engenieering. Many SUVS now have a lower center of gravity with unibody frames and more car like features they are not as subseptible to rollovers as they were in the past. Many manuafatures suchs as Honda and Toyota are putting a feature called "Vehicle Sability Assist" for Honda and Vehicle Sability Control for Toyota. This feature automatically corrects over steer or under steer caused by the driver by using the ABS systems to slow certain wheels down. It allows the center of gravity to stay lower as the customer continues to try and correct the mistake they made going into the turn. It all comes down to again driver error. If people knew how to drive and stay in control of the vehicle they are driving then rollovers would not accure as much as they do. If they would stop eating....doing their make-up, talking on their cell phones (which i do I will admit) and concentrate on driving overal crashes would drop dramatically.

rockos

everything I just said I will back up with total facts you want them let me know.
