sojo- i think the majority of SUV's cost more than the majority of sports cars..or probably the same....for example...the hummer or escalade rank up w/ the viper or corvette...and the jeeps, suburbans, tahoes, etc. rank w/ the camaros, T/A's, etc. etc.

fearcrest- unless im shown real evidence...i dont believe SUV's cause more crashes or deaths than sportscars...which would u rather be inside of when u crash....a suburban or a camaro

i believe what you said 100%... i would hate to be in a geo metro for any kind of wreck.. I was proud to own a truck when i did just for the fact that
i knew when i wrecked.. I would be less likely to br smashed like a coke can.

and as for the rolling of an SUV... first of all u would have to be going to fast.
if your going to drive fast then u dont need an SUV,,, im sorry

Hmm i'm not a huge fans of SUV's, but in an accident in an SUV, you are more likely to walk away alive. a higher percentage of people die in car crashes than SUV crashes.

Suvs roll easier, but so do vans

and before you blame SUV's for the speed limits. you might want to think about that. Transport Trucks and other large vehicles (contruction vehicles, busses etc..) that use those roads many times set the safety standards such as speed limits, turn angles, road slopes, hill size etc.. suv's have little to do with that.

Now since we all know that in order to fully understand a thing one must be that thing, it seems obvious that the state of believing in something inevitably causes us to not truly understand it. This leads to all sorts of difficulties. "I believe in love" has a better than even chance of leading to divorce, while "I believe in God" seems to end in variations on the Spanish Inquisition

I drive a pickup every day. Not because I feel safer, not because I am following a crowd, but because I want to.

Sucks to get the ticket eh ShizZits? I got one before... cept, it was a parking ticket. And the people saw the officer giving me the ticket, I was parked for five minutes, and she wrote that I was there for 15. Is that ridiculous or what? It's not even a damn cop, it's those stupid losers they hire for giving tickets out to improperly parked vehicles, which I cannot even think of the name they give them because all the anger is coming back to me... Argh...

never blamed suvs on speed limits, im blaming SUVS for high insurance and high gas prices,

SUV's = no oil for tommorow, and no its not cool to have a car that is 8 tons and guzzles 40 litres of gas in 100 km, if you wanna 4v4 get a beatle, lol

ok guys here is my two cents on this subject of SUV. First SUV car crashes are not because of the SUV it is because of the idiot driver. A certain number of people that drive SUV drive like dumbasses. I mean they drive them like a sports car or even a race car. they think they can go anywhere and everywhere. It is not the vehicle it is the driver. Example....in colorado 8 people have died this year on the four wheel drive passes by driving off the cliffs. why because they didnt know how to drive. vehicles took those road all summer long and only a couple went off the cliff not all of them. If people knew the limits of their driving abilities and the limits of the vehicle they are driving then we would all be safer. As far as crash tests go...people think they are safer in big suv and trucks....well i have news for you....more cars have a better crash tests and SUVs and trucks. Well people say well if u get hit by a big truck and u are in a car u are more likely to be hurt. Yes and no...yes if you are in a car that has a shitty crash test yes. no because certain manuafactures are designing vehicles to take on SUVs in crash tests. I give you an example. My tacoma you are more likely to have a plevik injury if you are involved in a side impact crash....where the honda civic coupe has a complete 5 star crash test for driver and passenger front as well as side impact for front and rear seats. Sorry for my rant but some people in here need to open their eyes and look outside of the box. People need to become smarter about what they drive and how they drive it. Yes "SUV" use a lot of gas right fearcast but what about a viper, a corvette, and all those "cars" out there that get less than 20 miles per gallon. Again sorry for my rant but it pisses me off that so many people are caught up in their little boxes.

like rockos said...SUV"s cant be blamed for gas consumption....thats political hype....there are pry more hillbilly's in my town runnin old muscle cars w/ crate engines that get pry 10 mpg than there are SUV's that get 15-25 mpg.....plus even tho cars are rated at higher mpg..doesnt mean they get that...ppl in sporty cars are more likely to mash on the gas than an SUV cause they are less conscious of their gas consumption.....i really doubt suv's are depleting our worlds oil by any noticeable margin of a fraction...plus technology is always improving...a 2005 corvette has 400 horsepower but yet gets 28mpg....technology will overcome, the world will not come to an end because of gas guzzlers....soon electric cars will be the mainstream and then eventually those will be outdated by some other type of power
