Yeah, I heard about that one. They mailed him back a picture of handcuffs and he then paid the ticket. At least that's how the story I heard goes.

As for speeding tickets, they're all bullshit. They have nothing to do with keeping the public safe, and everything to do with creating a stream of revenue for the city or state they were issued from. It's nothing more than legal extortion.

The same goes for any ticket.

Damn thats funny. At least the police had a sense of humor instead of going over there and demanding he pay or something.

And I completely agree with you on tickets. Total revenue stream.

I sometimes get tickets for parking on the street when the street cleaner is supposed to come through ( I work nights and forget to move the car) and I'll get a ticket even if they don't clean the street that month. They have done that to me twice now.

Also police have quotas to fill, at least in some cities in St Louis they do. So you always see tons of people getting pulled over at the end of the month.

90 percent of traffic laws are created in the view of the common person on the hight way..

For example if you have a stock cavalier nd your driving down the road at 55 mph your ods of killing your self are a x percent.. but if you hada corvette your odds would be less at that speed becuase your center of gravity is less your care stops quicked and handles better.. so blame all the damn 15 foot tall SUV's and poorly designed cars fot the low speed limits..

The other thing thats just plain dum , here where i liove . Rural MN, there is no traffic.. you rarly passa car or come up on traffic of any kind.. and the speed limits i have to obey are 55 mph... Now in the cities the speed limits are 65 or highter and there are cars every where there are mors cars with in 50 feet of my car than i would see driving 30 miles to or from work out in the country..

So Now add that with the factthat in the ciries every one drives 15 to 20 mph over the speed limit.. so now you have hndreads of cars going 80 in a 65 mph zone and the cops dont pull over any one because every one is going that fast, then back in the country, im going 65 in a 55, and get pulled over because I am the only car the cop has seen in the last three miles..and im doing a stupit 10 over, Around here cop pull you for dong 3 over the limit, and about the only risk is if a deer would run out in front of you.

Come on its totaly stupid..those state troopers should be down in the big cities busting all the people that are talegating at 80 MPH in a 65.. Ahh governmet policy at work once again.

damn SUV people, gas wasting car insurance wrecking people

i mean, what is honestly the point of getting an SUV if you dont put it to some good use, other then that you should stick to a good car.

so your saying a corvette or a sports car is statistically safer than an SUV?....why do u think those sport cars have such high insurance....SUV's are designed to be safe...yea they may be more susceptible to roll but technology has come a long way and i dont think ur going to being autocrossing w/ a Jeep...seriously..show me a graph saying that SUV's are wrecked more than sport cars

on a second note....your theory on cops may be correct but its lacking common sense....a person doing 60 in a flow of traffic that is doing 80 is more of a safety hazard than a person doing 85 in that same flow of traffic...a highway is straight and designed for highspeeds....if your doing 65 in a 55, that poses a much higher risk because the road more than likely has turns and stop signs....plus there are less people on this road so of course your going to have a greater chance of getting pulled over

laymens terms: 100,000 cars a day on the highway a day...u have a 1 in 80,000 chance of being pulled over (considering ur speeding but staying in the flow of traffic)..id imagine 20,000 do the speed limit so they are void

or

1,000 cars on the back road....less ppl are speeding...so pry 400-500 are void...this gives u a 1 in 500-600 chance of getting pulled over

logic...and please respect laws and police officers..if they werent pulling u over....many of your friends and relative would be dead by now

think of it this way,

an SUV has 4wD

you take a sharp turn, your more likely to flip over because of the 4wD because you got not only one wheel forcing you to turn but two, which = flippage

learnt that in drivers ed
