Supposedly Deneb is about 20% faster clock for clock than Barcelona and they overclock pretty well, too. That will probably have to hold AMD over until 2010.

As for i7, blowing away synthetic benchmarks is all well and good, but they're just not that great for gaming. There's literally no reason to upgrade from any Penryn-based CPU if you've already got one and gaming is your primary task.

or kentsfield, in my case. really, a mid range dual core is all you really need for games, core i7 is more of a workstation/server update, as intel is already plenty fast enough in games.

This message is to the Israeli R&D Team for Nehalem processors

Guys the work you have done with this processor is just unbelievable. We have a database that is under continued extreme sollicitations with very heavy database processing. We went from server configuration to server configuration and kept running into issues the further our database was growing in size and our calculations were growing in complexity.

The Nehalem i7 is just unbelievable in terms of capacity. It just never let us down in terms of calculation jobs we applied to it. Just incredible, and believe me I have experienced servers in my life.

Outstanding job. Fantastic value you are delivering everywhere. Thank you, and please post a message if any of you stop by Paris, will be happy to buy you a drink.

Thank you

Pierre
