Default IDE to SATA Adapter

Does anyone know of an IDE to SATA adapter that either doesn't attatch directly to the HDD or is slightly smalled than the offerings from Abit and such? I'm going to be getting a DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra Rev. B, but they dropeed their IDE RAID option in favor of SATA, but I'm not going to have enough money left over to switch over to SATA drives (i'm only in high school for pete's sake) and my case has the HDD's facing the side panel instead of the mobo as usual, and if the drives are mounted that way then I can't use the adapter.

They're expensive (the ones that attach), and may actually slow down performance. Try another motherboard.

Seperately? As far as I know, they don't exist...

Can't see any mobos I can recommend. Just get a separate ATA card with an Abit NF7-S...

Nah, I like some of the features on the NFII and I'm going to base all my mods around it. I figure I can just use my IDE drives in series with my optical drives until I make the switch to SATA. Thanks for the help anyways.
