Let me put it more blunlty for you:

Your motherboard is a piece of crap, just like my MSI.

Should really make a new thread for yourself, and post this one as a linky for reference showing us you actually did use our (usually) unnoticed search feature.

Hi guys,
I have a problem somewhat similar 2 Peter's.
I have
GA-7n400 pro 2 (rev 2)
Athlon 1800+ 1.53 Ghz (fsb 266)
256 DDR 266
9800pro Altantis by Saphire
40GB 8Mb
Power Source 400w (noname)

The problem is at follows: With the default settings my CPU runs at 1.15 Ghz (instead of 1.53Ghz) and when i try to set the fsb to 266 (either manually or to set the clk_sw to auto) it does not boot... (black screen, nothin happening).

PLEASE HELP !!

Just checking, but by 266 you mean you're setting the FSB to 133 right? If you're trying to set it to 266 and not 133, then try 133 and see how it works

10x 4 answering jenious ! And yes, i set the fsb to 133.
I may sound like a duffus asking this but i just want to be 100% sure: U change the FSB value from Advanced Chipset Settings right?
If that is the case, here is how it goes:
[Normal Mode]
FSB 100: CPU at 1150Mhz
FSB 133: same (???? i don't get it ????)
and that happens even when i set the fsb value to 200mhz ! (still don't get it)
anything above and it won't boot.
I will try to flash my bios to f11 //latest ver. right?// and see what happens.
10x
