Default GA-7N400 Pro2 boot problem solution

Hi guys

As suggest by Dafaman, here is the solution to the boot problem i had.

The symptoms :
When pressing the power switch, the PSU and all the fans were working properly, but i didn't get anything on the monitor. Nothing but a black screen, and then the monitor would turn in stand by mode after a few seconds.
I also had a dull noise coming out of the PC speaker and that seemed to affect the beam of my optical mouse (as though it was quaking).

The issue :
The problem was the PSU (350W). Was it defective or didn't it provide enough power i don't know, but as early as i changed the PSU for a 450W, everything went OK.

That's all folks!

GA-7N400 Pro2 looked like a real good MOBO

But it did not boot!

CPU AMD 2600+
Centon 512MB DDR 400
Nvidia Gforce 5200 Ultra
430 True Blue PSU

So when it did not boot I thought either the MOBO or CPU was bad.
I got another new CPU 2600+ and got the MOBO exchanged.
Did not boot again!!!!

Trying to find a solution I came across hardcoreware and read a post about GA-7N400 Pro2 compatible with only a limited set of Memory modules. So I will try a brand of DDR Memory from that list.
Gigabyte site does not have any such info I could find.

Just to make sure, you are connecting the 12v 4 pin power to the board as well as the atx power connector, right?

One question to you lucky guys out there with a working GA-7N400 Pro2
board.

What color is your Memory LED ? Is is supposed to change color from yellow to Green?

(Mine is lit yellow and I am forced to think my board is not booting because it does not like my 512MB memory module)

Thanks for all your support

( Yes The 12V - 4 Pin connector is properly connected along with the ATX power connector - If I use this PSU, memory module and CPU with same heat sink on a Abit KD7A RAID Mobo - it works well. So my power supply is good. Memory is not trash, CPU & heat sink are both OK but is not good enough for GA-7N400 Pro2 - GA-7N400 Pro2 may be like a high performance car that needs 99 octane fuel with regards to its Memory module specifications - I will try tonight with a new memory module.)
